Clément Rosenthal's art work screener:

In 1956, Clément Rosenthal is born in Paris to an artists’ family.

With a conductor father, a former singer mother and an applied artist grandfather, Clément nevertheless chose to follow his grandmother.

From the moment he first watched her paint a water color or draw a sketch, her influence was profound. Yet at the same time, thanks to his father’s concerts, he traveled throughout Europe, visiting and developing a lifelong fascination with museums.

In particular, he is fascinated by the deep connection and relationships between all the greatest works of art. And he discovers German Medieval painting, amazed by its dazzling hardness.

At sixteen, he drops out of school to devote himself to learning to paint.

Yet he quickly quits the Beaux-Arts school, whose teaching fails to satisfy him. They ask him to express himself freely, but what he really wants is to master his art.

Luckily, a friend and experienced painter offers to teach him the fundamentals, and he will go almost daily to his atelier to learn the different pictorial techniques.

Then, from 1979 on, he embarks on his own on the painting adventure and completes his first works. He goes on to collaborate with various galleries and artistic professionals. In 2000, he finally meets Jacques Melki.
